News Americas Now, NEW YORK, NY, Monday, February 16, 2015- On January 21, 2015, Pitch&Choose went live with its regional crowdfunding platform. This online fundraising innovation promises to address the challenges of attracting charitable donations using conventional approaches that many non-profits and alumni sssociations in the Caribbean are now experiencing.
Pitch&Choose will also host fundraising by individuals who can launch campaigns on www.pitchandchoose.com to attract funding for their causes and also for social and creative projects and ventures. Crowdfunding, through its reach to a large global community, has the capacity to help overcome the longstanding challenge of insufficient capital available for investment in creative industries and enterprising ventures.
Pitch&Choose is the brainchild of Mrs. A. Cecile Watson, who is a former banker and senior leader in the private and public sector in Jamaica, and regionally. She co-founded the business with her son Mr. Neil Watson.
Their goal is to engage Caribbean residents, nationals, friends and the diaspora in supporting causes that will enable the region to help fund the rebuilding of its social infrastructure.
“Crowdfunding”, Mrs. Watson says, “will be good for our nation economies. We foresee that with Pitch&Choose in place, the Caribbean will be poised to seize our share in the growing global crowdfunding market, which was projected to have had an economic impact of over USD$65 Billion in 2014”.
Mr. Watson explained that: “We are now actively seeking to attract new campaigns throughout the Caribbean. As such, we want to identify local affiliates who know the market and can support the introduction of Pitch&Choose in each country.”
Pitch&Choose comes to the market with Sagicor Jamaica as its launch partner. As a new measure in their 2015 Sigma Corporate Run, Sagicor has introduced crowdfunding as a means to attract a new stream of donations from Jamaicans and Caribbean people locally, regionally and in the Diaspora.
The beneficiaries of their “Save the Children! Save Our Future!’ campaign are Cornwall Regional Hospital Neonatal Unit and Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation. The campaign is due to expire on March 01, 2015 and has the endorsement of the 2015 Sigma Patrons, Alia Atkinson and Tarrus Riley. Donations can be made at www.pitchandchoose.com.
