The Reality TV star has filed for divorce from younger husband, Kris Humphries only two weeks after their lavish sponsor-filled wedding was aired on the E! network.
E! Network released a statement yesterday noting its surprise.
“All of us at E! are surprised and saddened by this news, and we send our support to Kim and Kris at this difficult time. The Kardashians have always been uniquely open with all aspects of their lives from joyous events to intimate moments to heartbreaking transitions. E! will continue to share the fascinating real lives and larger-than-life existence of this close-knit family,” said the statement.
Kris and Kim were married on August 20th after only dating for 6 months. People magazine purchased photos from the event for a reported $1.5 million. Similarlly, OK! magazine reportedly paid $100,000 for the exclusive photos of the bridal shower. The magazine also paid for the exclusive rights to photos of the couple’s Honeymoon. Along with the huge price tags on photos, discounts were given to Kardashian for everything from her wedding ring to her invitations.
The 400 member wedding guest list included such stars as Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough, Kathy Lee Gifford, Mel B, George Lopez and Serena Williams.
