News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Tues. June 26, 2018: Jamaican New Yorkers gathered in Roy Wilkins Park for the annual Groovin in the Park music festival were all agog Sunday at the performance of R&B singer and songwriter, Kenneth Brian ‘Baby Face’ Edmonds, who clearly brought the love vibes along with a few extra pounds.
A visibly heavier Baby Face thrilled the Jamaican fans with 80’s hits like ‘For The Cool In You,’ ‘Ready Or Not,’ and ‘Can We Talk,’ as many sang right along to every word.
The 59-year-old Grammy-winning singer got into the groove of the moment so much that he left the stage to walk among fans gathered there, opening his shirt to reveal not a six pack but a paunch.
Still that did not seem to bother the fans, especially many women, who greeted the 80’s sex symbol with screams, applause and adoration.
Babyface was invited back to Groovin in the Park after an eight-year hiatus.
The show also included performances from reggae’s Busy Signal, Capleton, Romain Virgo and Damian Marley.
Groovin In The Park dubs itself as “North America’s Largest Annual Reggae, And Rhythm & Blues Concert.”
