News Americas Now, New York, NY, Thursday, July 31, 2014: America Airlines has announced that the airline will be initiating daily flights to Cap-Haitien in Haiti for travel beginning October 2, 2014 subject to government approval.
The airline currently flies to Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince and the new route will be from Miami to Cap-Haitien.
American Airlines’ SVP for Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America, Art Torno, commented: “We have proudly served Haiti for more than 40 years and believe this new service is important not for our customers, but also as an important catalyst to develop the north coast and open us this historically significant destination.”
Haitian Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, added: “This new route represents a tremendous opportunity for significant economic impact for our country by connecting Miami directly to the second city of Haiti.”
