News Americas, LOS ANGELES, CA, Weds. June 15, 2011: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Guatemalan-born “baby mama’” is breaking her silence and speaking out about the affair.
Mildred Baena, in an interview published Tuesday by Hello! Magazine, claims her son Joseph, 13, only learned who his real father was about a year ago.
She said his reaction was simply: “Cool!”
Both mother and son are featured in the magazine in one of the first published pictures of Joseph.
“It became more apparent as time went on,” the former housekeeper was quoted as saying. “I knew Arnold was the father, and maybe as Joseph got older and began to look like him, he (Arnold) wondered. But he never said anything to me.”
She said Shriver also grew suspicious as whispers circulated in the household over the similarities between Joseph and her boss. Baena said Shriver finally asked “point blank” if the boy was Schwarzenegger’s son, and was “so strong” when faced with the truth.
“She cried with me and told me to get off my knees,” Baena told the magazine. “We held each other and I told her it wasn’t Arnie’s fault, that it takes two.”
The former housekeeper to Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver, has kept a low profile since the revelations of her affair with the former California governor sparked a frenzy.
Baena reportedly worked for Schwarzenegger and Shriver for 20 years.
She now has positive hopes for the former California first couple. “I know he (Schwarzenegger) is suffering too,” she said. “He loves Maria. I hope with time they work things out.”
