News Americas, ZÜRICH, Switzerland, Thurs. Sept. 8, 2011: Former world’s fastest man, Asafa Powell, may have missed the IAAF World Championships in Daegu but he is set to return to competition today.
Powell is slated to race in the 100-m at the Weltklasse Zürich, the first of two Finals of the Samsung Diamond League 2011.
Powell will face stiff competition from fellow countryman and World gold medalist, Yohan Blake as well as Jamaica’s Nesta Carter and Michael Frater; the US’ Walter Dix and Kim Collins of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Powell was hampered by a groin injury and did not run at the World Champs.
