News Americas, BRASILIA, Brazil, Mon. July 14, 2014: While many Caribbean fans were saddened by the loss of Argentina to Germany at the 2014 World Cup soccer finals yesterday, Grammy-winning sexy Bajan singer and actress Rihanna was celebrating the Germans win over the once great South American team.
In Brazil for the FIFA 2014 soccer world cup finals Rihanna tweeted: “Congrats to my German boyz! This was the most epic experience of my entire life! You guys made me so proud to be here.”
Before the match the singer had tweeted out a photograph of her clad in a red, yellow and black swim suit with a soccer ball and tagged it: “for my German boys.”
Showing she knows her soccer, RiRi then proceeded to give fans an almost ball by ball commentary of the match on her Twitter feed including the lone goal scored by Germany’s 22-year-old attacking midfielder Mario Goetze in the 113th minute.
“Goooooooaaaaallllllll,” tweeted Rihanna. “Super f…ng Mario!!!!!”
Goetze’s goal gave his country its fourth title, but only it’s first as Germany much to the glee of German fans and its Chancellor Angela Merkel. It won three times as West Germany.
Gotze said he felt “unbelievable” after scoring the extra-time goal that gave Germany a 1-0 win over Argentina.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling,” said the Bayern Munich forward after etching his name into World Cup legend at the iconic Maracana.”I don’t know how to describe it. You just score that goal and you don’t really know what’s happening after that. It’ll be a party with the whole team and the country. It’s a dream come true to win the World Cup, especially in Brazil.”
After replacing Miroslav Klose in the 88th minute, Gotze’s historic moment arrived seven minutes from the end of extra time when he chested down a cross from Andre Schurrle and lashed a volley past Sergio Romero.
Meanwhile, Argentinian fans were clearly saddened at the loss including the team and its captian, Lionel Messi, even though he was named the tournament’s best player by FIFA’s Technical Study Group and received the adidas Golden Ball. The Argentina players cut dejected figures as they waited to collect their medals at the end of Sunday’s Final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil. Yet as Alejandro Sabella’s men wiped away the tears triggered by their narrow defeat to Germany, their compatriots back home gathered en masse in streets up and down the land to express their gratitude
Russia will stage the first major milestone event next July in Saint Petersburg when the qualifying pathway for FIFA’s member associations will be defined at the Preliminary Draw.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, a clearly buzzed Rihanna showed off her butt in a skimpy bikini. Luckily she put on her shorts to take a pic with Brazilian soccer legend Pele before posting both to Instagram.
