News Americas, HAMILTON, Bermuda, Tues. Dec. 18, 2012: Voters in Bermuda choose change Monday, sending the Progressive Labour Party and Premier Paula Cox packing.

The recently formed opposition One Bermuda Alliance, OBA, won 19 of the 36 seats in the general elections Monday.

The win was by a close two seat margin, according to preliminary figures released today, Dec. 18.

OBA leader Craig Cannonier, a relative new comer to politics on the British Overseas territory declared “Bermuda has seen a new day.”
The victory for the OBA ended 14 years of PLP rule.
