News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Nov. 2, 2018: Beyonce’s Caribbean-born hairstylist has designated his hair salon in Brooklyn, NY as a drop off point for the collection of physical donations from those who wish to send items to the flood relief in the twin-island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
Neal Farina, who was born in Trinidad before migrating to the US, has been the mastermind behind some of Beyoncé’s most iconic transformations for the past 13 years. Farinah first started styling hair when he was 17 and met Beyoncé when he was working at what his namesake salon in Brooklyn in 2005 after a client said her friend needed her hair done.
He’s also built up a steady clientele of other big names in music, including Solange, Nicki Minaj and Mary J. Blige.
The salon is located at 709 Fulton Street Brooklyn, NY 11217.
The news comes as Minaj as well as rapper Busta Rhymes, who roots extend to Jamaica, have both donated to the flood relief. Trinidad suffered unprecedented flooding on the weekend of Oct. 19, 2018.
