News Americas, RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, Weds. June 15, 2011: Brazil needs to focus on improving its airports for the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics.
That’s the analysis of International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge. Rogge said while the rest of the plans ahead of the major sporting events are going fine, “The priority is on the airports.”
Brazil’s government said it will invest 5.15 billion reais ($3.3 billion) to remodel the country’s airports, improve roads and expand urban transit before the sporting events.
