News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Tues. May 15, 2018: The reviews are in and many are raving about the incredible performance of Caribbean-born actress, Parisa Fitz-Henley, in her role as Meghan Markle in the Lifetime Television US premier of ‘Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.’
The movie chronicles the fairy tale courtship and love story of Prince Harry, played by Murray Fraser, and Meghan Markle, played by Kingston-born Parisa Fitz-Henley.
It begins from the moment they met after being set up by friends, through their initial courtship when they were able to keep their romance under wraps, and ultimately the intense global media attention surrounding their relationship, the reaction to their relationship, including the open racism, and Meghan’s life as a divorced mixed race American actress.
The romantic feature has left many breathless and sharing their emotional reaction on social media ahead of the anticipated royal wedding of Prince Harry and the American-born Suits actress this Saturday, May 19th.
The romantic scenes are vivid and sucks the viewer into the world of a couple falling in love but fighting it. The scenes from Africa are vivid and dramatic, including a scene where a lion approaches and roars at the couple, and the chemistry between Fitz-Henley and Murray is undeniable and they are believable as a couple, including their onscreen fight and temporary break-up. By the time the movie ends and cuts to the real life scene of Harry and Markle, the viewer is not even sure which of the couples are real and which an act.
On Social Media site Twitter, many flocked to applaud Fitz-Henley’s performance while lauding how real the movie seemed to the real-life romance of the Prince and his bride-to-be.
“Parisa is an amazing Meghan Markle,” tweeted Reina Valentine. “Harry’s actor is great, too. Someone at Lifetime reeeeally doesn’t like Kate Middleton. I mean damn. Leave my girl alone I love the issues they’re addressing. The romance is believable & sweet.”
“The actress playing Meghan Markle is spot on. She even sounds just like her. And we know that because we’ve heard Meghan before. Bravo. #ARoyalRomance,” added Simone Scott.
“Really touching performance. She is the shining star of this. Compelling & real. Brava!,” tweeted Frocktalk while FugGirls added: “Parisa Fitz-Henley is really excellent in this part. She is SO likable.”
“Parisa Fitz-Henley is doing a great job. A very convincing Meghan,” tweeted Evil Mommy while Garf added: “Did you watch Parisa Fitz-Henley’s A Royal Romance? I just had to DVR it!”
Henley, 41, a former fashion model, for her part, took to Twitter to thank fans for their love.
