SCAM TARGETING RIHANNA

Four men are accused of running a concert scheme in which they tried to get investors to pay millions of dollars for shows they said were for A-list singers like Bajan star Rihanna.

Authorities were alerted to the alleged scam in July 2018 when a lawyer for an entertainment company that represents Rihanna contacted the FBI to report that a man named Kwasi Asare, 39, of New Orleans, was trying to get investors to pay $19.5 million for a Rihanna concert.

Asare had promised a 22 percent return on the investments, according to a complaint filed in April by the United State’s Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.

NEW ENGLAND REGGAE SINGER TOPS BILLBOARD REGGAE CHART

A New England reggae singer has claimed the top spot on the Billboard Reggae Charts this week.

Joe Sambo, born Joe Sambataro, began his career in music as a guitarist and vocalist for the hardcore-metal band Spies Like Us. After finding success in a fast-paced and hard-hitting genre, he switched gears to hone in on reggae as the frontman for his group Joe Sambo and the Goon. He won the 2014 MassCann “Battle for the Rally” contest which has since led him to share the stage with the likes of Ziggy Marley, Roots of Creation, Marlon Asher, and Zach Deputy. His single, ‘The Wrong Impression,’ has debuted on the chart this week.

SEAN KINGSTON SIGNS WITH BDR

Jamaican-American singer Sean Kingston has signed with BDR’s IconicReach platforms, which will market his new music, including the new single “Peace of Mind” through giveaway contests and several additional campaigns on Instagram and TikTok.

Kingston is returning to publishing his music after six years and engaging with larger audiences through IconicReach.

SHAGGY FOR ABC’s GOOD MORNING AMERICA PERFORMANCE

Jamaican reggae singer Shaggy, is set to perform on ABC’s Good Morning America on Wednesday, May 8th.

This will be followed by performances on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Tuesday, May 14th and Strahan & Sara on Friday, May 17.

The singer’s latest ‘Wah Gwaan?!’ album also features the single ‘You,’ with 19-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter Alexander Stewart.

Multi Grammy-award winning singer, Michael Bolton, is set to perform in Queens, NY this June.

Bolton, known for hits like ‘Soul Provider,’ is booked to perform at Groovin In The Park on Sunday, June 30 at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, NY.

The singer, who has sold more than 53 million albums and singles worldwide, will join lovers rock King Beres Hammond and BBC radio broadcaster Sir David Rodigan as performers at the festival that is now in its ninth year.
