News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. July 7, 2023: Get ready for a new Caribbean restaurant in Brooklyn, NY. OxKale, a new venture by the owners of the beloved Kokomo restaurant in Williamsburg, is bringing the vibrant flavors of the Caribbean to fast-casual dining.
Located at 52 North 11th Street, near Kent Avenue, this modern Caribbean spot is set to open its doors soon. OxKale will offer a unique twist on classic Caribbean dishes, serving up mouthwatering oxtail, jerk chicken, and curry shrimp in convenient bowls and wraps. Drawing inspiration from popular fast-casual chains, a spokesperson for the restaurant describes it as a “Caribbean Chipotle” experience.
The masterminds behind OxKale are none other than Ria and Kevol Graham, who made waves with their successful launch of Kokomo in the summer of 2020, when outdoor dining became the norm. Their journey is an inspiration to many, as Kevol’s roots trace back to Kingston, Jamaica. Growing up under the loving care of his grandmother in St Catherine, Spanish Town, he eventually reunited with his parents in New York. Ria, on the other hand, proudly represents her Trinidadian and Grenadian heritage, with her mother hailing from Point Fortin in Trinidad and her father originating from the picturesque island of Carriacou, off the coast of Grenada.
The dynamic combination of Jamaican, Trinidadian, and Grenadian influences brings a rich tapestry of flavors and culinary traditions to OxKale. From the sizzling spices to the vibrant ingredients, every bite tells a story of Caribbean heritage and passion for exceptional cuisine.
So, mark your calendars and prepare your taste buds for a tantalizing experience at OxKale, with dishes like Caribbean Harvest Bowl, Oxtail Bowl, Vegan Goddess Bowl, Haitian Market Bowl and Fisherman’s Bowl.
