News Americas, ORDOS, China, Fri. Aug, 3, 2012: Ten Caribbean and Latin American beauty queens have made the semi-finals in beach fashion competition of the Miss World 2012 pageant.
Those making the semis include Trinidad & Tobago’s Athaliah Tizrah Samuel; Jamaica’s Deanna Robins; Brazil’s Mariana Notarangelo; Colombia’s Barbara Turbay; Mexico’s Mariana Berumen Reynoso; Guatemala’s Monique Georgette Aparicio Lopez; Puerto Rico’s Janelee Marcus Chaparro Colon; Guadeloupe’s Brigitte Golabkan; Martinique’s Andy Govindin, and Argentina’s Josefina Herrero.
Only 40 contestants grabbed a spot in the beach fashion semis.
The new Miss World 2012 will be chosen on August 18, 2012 at the Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium in Ordos, China. One hundred and sixtten contestants from all over the world competed for the crown, marking the biggest turnout in the pageant’s history. Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela will crown her successor at the end of the event.
Contestants from the Americas competing for the coveted title are from Aruba, Guyana, The Bahamas, Barbados, Bonaire, Belize, Bermuda, Chile, Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Peru, Panama, St. Kitt/Nevis, Suriname, US Virgin Islands, Venezuela.
