News Americas, KINGSTON, Jamaica, Thurs. Oct. 28, 2021: At least 39 members of the cult-like Pathways International Kingdom Restoration Ministries in Jamaica, were on Wednesday fined a total of J$1.17 million Jamaican dollars after pleading guilty to breaches of the Disaster Risk Management Act.

The members, who appeared in the St James Parish Court also face 20 days in jail if the fines are not paid.

The charge comes two days after their cult pastor, Kevin Smith, died in a vehicular accident as he was being driven in an unmarked police vehicle from the Freeport Police Station in St James, Montego Bay, to the police headquarters in Kingston.

A police officer, identified as Orlando Irons, also died in the vehicular accident, while two others were seriously injured. Smith’s family now wants an independent autopsy.
