News Americas, WASHINGTON, D.C., Fri. Dec. 10, 2021: Caribbean-born superstar Rihanna is having an amazing 2021. After reaching billionaire status this year and being named a national hero of her homeland of Barbados on Nov. 30th, RiRi is not one the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list!
Rihanna made the Forbes list, released this week, that also includes Beyoncé and Oprah. She came in at number 68 thanks to the success of Fenty Cosmetics and Savage x Fenty that helped her reach billionaire status this year, and her musical influence that caused all eight of her studio albums to chart within the top 10 of the Billboard 200 charts.
Forbes revealed Rihanna as a billionaire in August, thanks in large part to the fast success of Fenty Beauty, which she launched in 2017 as a 50-50 joint venture with French luxury goods conglomerate LVMH.
The company’s inclusive mission and focus on diversity resonated with customers, boosting its value to $2.8 billion as of August, Forbes conservatively estimates. The singer’s net worth also jumped in February when Savage x Fenty, launched as a joint venture with TechStyle Fashion Group in 2018, raised $115 million in funding at a $1 billion.
