Another Earthquake Rattles Three Caribbean Nations
Is the big one coming? Another earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale last evening rattled three Caribbean cities. According to the UWI Seismic Research Center, the quake struck at 9 p.m. at 224 km ENE of Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, 255 km E of Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda and 257 km NE of Roseau, Dominica. It was the latest quake in the region this week, with a 3.8 occurring on Sunday, Dec. 9th and another on Dec. 7th near St. Kitts.
Long Island Man Wants Answers After Wife’s Mysterious Death In The Turks And Caicos
The grieving husband of a Long Island, NY woman mysteriously killed in on vacation in Turks and Caicos is still desperate for answers two months after her death. Marie Kuhnla, 61, of Long Island, was found dead in the bushes near the Club Med Resort where she was staying on Oct. 16, prompting a murder investigation, the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force said at the time. The National Security Minister in Trinidad and Tobago insists there will be no sex party on the island after reports that an event carded as a ‘Sex Island Party’ will take place at an island off of the North of Trinidad. “I have asked law enforcement and Immigration to monitor this and to make it known that such an event and the suggested illegal actions to take place will NOT be tolerated by Trinidad and Tobago,” the minister was quoted as saying. Here’s What Democrats Are Saying About That Public Charge Rule
Democratic lawmakers in Congress, including those in the Congressional Black Caucus, are among those slamming the Trump administration’s public charge rule targeted at immigrants. The CBC said the proposal would racially discriminate against black immigrants and fly in the face of Congress’ intentions when it decided against adding provisions to a 1996 immigration law that would have required the government to consider use of public assistance programs in weighing applications for immigration benefits.
