News Americas, OWIA, St. Vincent, Weds. May 5, 2021: On Tuesday, May 4, 2021, our News Americas News Network crew made our way over to Owia, a town in the red zone and northeast of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines that is close to the ‘La Soufrière’ volcano and which has been impacted greatly from the numerous explosive eruptions that occurred beginning April 9th as it was one of the “high hazard” areas.
Access has been cut off by road so the only way to get there now is by boat. Here’s what it looks like in Owia, St. Vincent days after the La Soufrière stopped explosively erupting, as we accompanied the Invest Caribbean + Ritzury executives on their needs assessment and aid mission.
