News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Jan. 11, 2018: As the New England Patriots gear up to begin their title defense of the Super Bowl, two Caribbean roots players will be part of the team.

As the Patriots open up their playoff run against the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday, Haitian American Sony Michel as well as Jamaican-born Patrick Chung, will help lead the charge.

Chung this week admitted the Chargers will be a tough challenge, but he insisted: “We have to be able to bring our A game for this one or we go home. We have to get ready to go.”

Some are already betting the young Michel, son of Haitian immigrants, is the one to take the Patriots back to another Super Bowl finals this year. Michel has shown tremendous growth during his rookie season.

As New England prepares to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC Divisional Round on Sunday at Gillette Stadium, fellow running back James White praised the growth Michel has shown throughout his first NFL season.

In finishing the 2018 NFL season with a total of 931 yards and 6 rushing touchdowns in just 13 games played, Michel will be an important factor come Sunday.
