News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Feb. 16, 2018: The governing body of football in the Caribbean region, CONCACAF, has announced that the draw for the inaugural CONCACAF League of Nations will take place on March 7th in Miami, Florida.

This tournament will serve as a qualifier for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup with the 41-member associations to be divided into three leagues.

President of CONCACAF, Victor Montaglianni, said the reason behind using this competition is to ensure that all nations, especially those in the Caribbean, utilize all FIFA dates.

With this event, the CFU Caribbean Cup as well as the COPA Centro-Americana, will be dissolved.  The next edition of the Gold Cup will be expanded from 12 to 16 teams.
