News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. 20, 2018: Theodore Whitmore is now back in charge as coach of the Jamaica Reggae Boyz.
Whitmore has withdrawn his resignation and has been restored as head coach of Jamaica’s senior football team following mediation by the country’s Minister of Sports, Olivia Grange, on April 13th.
According to a statement from Grange’s ministry late Friday, Whitmore has withdrawn his resignation letter, the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has offered him a new contract and all issues between the parties have been settled.
“I’m very pleased with what transpired at today’s meeting between myself, the JFF and the minister,” Whitmore was quoted as saying. “I’m looking forward to getting back to doing what I love and that is coaching, and to making sure that the nation’s football is a priority and we move forward with myself and the federation and the ministry to make it a success.”
