News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. June 1, 2018: The West Indies cricket side beat a Rest of the World XI Thursday at Lord’s in the Hurricane Relief T20 Challenge clash.
Evin Lewis slammed a 26-ball 58 to help the Windies to a win. Lewis smashed five of the team’s 15 maximums as the team led by Carlos Brathwaite, amassed 199-4 from their 20 overs in a fixture aimed at raising funds to repair five Caribbean cricketing venues damaged during Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017.
Denesh Ramdin, 44 not out, off 25, Marlon Samuels, 43 off 22; and Andre Russell, 21not out off 10, also starred for the Windies with the bat
The Rest of the World side slumped to 8 for 4 inside four overs of their run chase and only reached 127 thanks to Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perera who scored 61 from 37 balls.
