News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Thurs Mar. 29, 2018: 2011 World Champion, Yohan Blake, seems to be back in top form after after winning the Men’s 100m event during the 2018 Queensland Track Classic at QSAC on March 28, 2018 in Brisbane, Australia.
Blake, who owns the second fastest times ever run over both the 100-m and 200-m, surpassed only by recently retired sprint king and compatriot Usain Bolt, says he said he is ready to “take over’’ world men’s sprinting after cruising to the win in Brisbane in his last race before the Commonwealth Games.
Blake clocked 10.34sec (no wind) in a strong heat ahead of Canadian Aaron Brown (10.41) and Sydney’s Rohan Browning (10.46).
“I’m looking forward to that night in the final in Australia,” Blake was recently quoted by Digicel Sports Max as saying. “I don’t have a Commonwealth medal. It’s very important for me to have one in my trophy case.’’
The 2018 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXI Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Gold Coast 2018, is set for April 4-15, 2018 at the Carrara Stadium in Carrara, Australia.
