Jamaica Jaheel Hyde is among the Caribbean’s gold medal winner.

News Americas, Hayden Field, OR, Sat. July 26, 2014: The Caribbean region has already racked up a total of 11 medals at the IAAF World Junior Championships 2014 at the Hayward Field in Oregon.

Jamaica has five medals including the gold medal win Friday by Jaheel Hyde in a world-leading 49.29 in the 400-m hurdles. Cuba has four medals on the table but no gold medals.

Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago have one medal each. Akela Jones took the gold in the long jump while Trinidad and Tobago’s Machel Cedeno took the win in the 400 meters.
