News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Mon. June 1, 2015: The spotlight is on the food, rums and attractions of the Caribbean this week as Caribbean Week in New York returns for another run.

The annual presentation of the Caribbean Tourism Organization, got underway with the Celebrity Chef Program Sunday as master cooks share Caribbean-inspired cuisine at the Williams-Sonoma Shops at Columbus Circle in NYC.

Several chefs from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Jamaica and the U.S. Virgin Islands will be showcasing the cuisine of the islands to New Yorkers and visitors this week.

On Sunday, Jamaican-inspired cuisine was presented by Samantha (Chef Sam) Davis of Savor  while tomorrow,  U.S. Virgin Islands chef Digby Stridiron will showcase the island’s cuisine with dinner service at Spur Tree at Norman’s Cay Restaurant, 74 Orchard St. (between Broome and Grand Sts.) in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

The “Caribbean Romance Pavilion” opens on Wednesday to showcase a wide array of venues, accommodations and options for a romantic honeymoon or destination wedding in the region.
