News Americas, LONDON, England, Mon. Sept. 12, 2011: A London-born, convict is living under an assume name in the Dominican Republic.

Michael Brown, whose record donation swelled of £2.4million to the Lib Dems during the 2005 General Election expanded their war chest, has been renting luxury properties, driving expensive cars and playing golf on exclusive courses, according to an investigation by The Sunday Telegraph.

Brown was convicted of multi-million-pound theft and fraud in November 2008 in his absence, after skipping bail and disappearing.

City of London Police say they have been ‘aware for some time’ that the fugitive had been living under an alias in the Dominican Republic but there is no extradition treaty between the two nations.
