News Americas, CHARLOTTE, N.C., Fri. Sept. 7, 2012: California Attorney General Kamala Harris, born to a Jamaican American father and an Indian mother, has created quite a buzz on Twitter for her gaffe at the Democratic National Convention.
Harris, a guest speaker at the Convention, made a major slip half-way through the speech. While talking about Romney’s policies, the Attorney General unintentionally called Mitt Romney, “Miss Romney.”
Just after the slip, Twitter became flooded with tweets concerning the “Miss Romney” slip-up and before long a #MissRomney hashtag began to trend.
The Harris slip is sure to earn its spot right next to Clint Eastwood’s “Invisible Obama”, as one of the top Tweets of the 2012 election year.

Her gaffe came in the same week when Jamaican American Congresswoman, Yvette Clarke, in an appearance on “The Colbert Report” claimed slavery ended in 1898 and Brooklyn was enslaved by the Dutch at that time.
