News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Mon. April 2, 2018: Popular Discovery TV show, ‘Gold Rush,’ has returned to the CARICOM, South American nation of Guyana for another season.

The new season spin-off, which premiered on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 9 p.m., kicked off with Parker Schnabel, fresh from his $7 million season in the Yukon, setting out to mine the gold-rich jungles of Guyana.

In the new show, ‘Gold Rush – Parker’s Trail,’ Schnabel takes Rick Ness and survivalist Karla Ann, who were all part of the Klondike show, along with Irish camera man Sam Brown to Guyana, in search of gold in the country’s jungle, where export earnings from the yellow metal was US$817M last year.

Schnabel and his crew are following in the footsteps of Todd Hoffman and his crew, who five years ago sought gold but instead experienced the greatest mining failure ever on Gold Rush.

The tree arrived in Georgetown and then flew into Madhia before beginning trekking through the jungle, battling heat, venomous snakes, giant spiders, flooding and stomach bugs, in search of the famed legend of El Dorado.

They also must cross the raging Amatuk River to make it up to the gold fields of Guyana.

Parker has already admitted that the trip was “by in far, the most challenging two months of my life.”

Calling the experience “pretty weird,” the Guyana trip he said took the “Alaskan boy” out of his comfort zone. On the plus side, he has said they saw a “huge amount of the country” and “met a lot of cool people.”

The show returns on Friday night at 9 p.m. EST.
