News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Mon. Sept. 10, 2012: Thursday, September 6, 2012, was the official global celebration of Fashion Night Out, when fashionistas and industry professionals flocked to department stores, boutiques, designer showrooms, local marketplaces, and sidewalks too, with the intention of finding the best of sales and a chance to party for free while mingling with industry elite and celebrities.
Our reporter’s first stop in Manhattan, New York City, was at 244 West 29th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues, at the showroom of Trinidadian-American designer Francis Hendy. A group of young ladies there were captivated by his exclusive but affordable designer wear. However, they had to wait until the following day when the sale would begin.
Next stop was by the Limelight Marketplace, located at the corner of Avenue of the Americas and west 20th Street, to visit the boutique owned by Brazilian designer Edwing D’Angelo. It was an extremely exciting night with a great party for everyone, an amazing red carpet on the sidewalk at the front entrance, countless shoppers, numerous celebrities, and a live jazz band with really good singers.
