News Americas, MIAMI, FL, Fri. Sept. 7, 2018: A former Air Jamaica executive has been named as the new counsel general of Jamaica in Miami.
Oliver Mair will replace Franz Hall, who returned to Jamaica to serve as the Director of Protocol at the Foreign Ministry late last year.
Jamaica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Kamina Johnson Smith, made the announcement is a statement on Friday. She said Mair’s “wide experience in marketing, sales, business and the arts, spanning the tourism, agro-processing and real estate industries should serve him well as Consul General, where such varied knowledge base, talents and expertise will be needed to continue, expand and deepen the important work of the Jamaican Consulate in Miami.”
Mair is a former Air Jamaica regional marketing manager, a former sales and marketing manager at Jamaica Broilers and a realtor at Coldwell Banker Jamaica Limited.
He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Nova South Eastern University and Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a Management Studies minor.
