News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Aug. 3, 2018: Former member of the internationally acclaimed band, Third World, Irvin “Carrot” Jarrett, is set to be laid to rest next week.

His wife, Alisia Jarrett, made the announcement on Facebook, noting that the celebration of the renowned percussionist turned health and wellness healer, will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the Webster Memorial Church, 53 Halfway Tree Road, Kingston, Jamaica at 2 p.m.

“No floral arrangements please. Cheerful colors. It’s a celebration!,” she posted.

Jarret, 69, died at his home in Jamaica on July 31st. His percussion genius was heard in Third World hits like “96 Degrees in the Shade,” “Always Around” and “Now That We Found Love.”

A veteran musician, he joined Third World, founded by Stephen “Cat” Coore and Michael “Ibo” Cooper, in 1973. The band became an instant hit in Jamaica and international and Jarett was continuously praised for mastering the percussion instruments.

During his tenure with Third World, the band was nominated for a Grammy award. Jarrett played on most of the band’s hit songs. He left the band in the 1980s to focus on being a holistic health provider.
