News Americas, New York, NY, Mon. May 15, 2017: The IAAF Diamond League Shanghai wrapped up on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in China with four Caribbean athletes taking top honors at the event. Here are four who won gold and bronze:

1: Omar McLeod

Jamaican Olympian Omar McLeod won gold in the 110-meters hurdles for his country in a time of 13:09.

2: Elaine Thompson

Double Olympian Elaine Thompson of Jamaica took the gold in the women’s 100-m in a world leading time of 10:78 over the US’ Tori Bowie of the US and Marie-josee Ta Lou of Cote D’ivoire. The 24-year-old stormed to the fourth fastest performance of her career, just 0.08 shy of her personal best, in what was her first race in the Chinese port city. “I was happy with my preparation and the way I executed the race today,” said Thompson, who outraced world 200m champion Dafne Schippers to win the 200m race in Doha last Friday. “I made a great start and I was able to bring it home. I am pleased with the time. My aim now is to go back home and compete in the Jamaica Invitational later this month. From there it is all about preparing for the rest of the season and the World Championships.”

3: Shaunae Miller-Uibo

Bahamas-born Olympian, Shaunae Miller-Uibo, beat back the US’ Natasha Hastings to claim the win in the women’s 400-meters competition in a time of world leading time of 49:77. It was her second successive Shanghai 400m victory.

4: Denia Caballero

Cuba’s Denia Caballero took the bronze in the women’s discus throw with a throw of 63.79.
