News Americas, PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Weds. Aug. 10, 2016: The Caribbean media fraternity has lost another one of its best and brightest.
Friends and colleagues flocked to social media yesterday to express shock and grief at the sudden passing of Angela Martin, editor of the Woman Magazine of the Trinidad Express Newspaper. Prior to the Express, she worked at the Trinidad Guardian where she helmed The Zone magazine, a publication that highlighted the talents of the nation’s youth.
News reports out of Trinidad indicate Martin, 60, passed away at her Morvant home. Funeral arrangements will be announced by her family soon.
The Trinidad & Tobago Media Association issued a statement calling Martin “deeply loved and admired by her friends and colleagues” and extending sympathy to her family at this time of grief and loss.
“Rest in Peace, our dear sister,” the statement added.
NAN founder Felicia J. Persaud said she is deeply shocked and saddened at the news. “Gone too soon dear comrade,” said Persaud while adding: “To say you will be missed is an understatement so I will only say heaven must have been in need of an editor yesterday.”
