News Americas, TAMPA, FL, Mon. Aug. 27, 2012: The 2012 Republican National Convention got underway today officially, August 27th, after being cut short by Tropical Storm Issac. Republican National Committee Chairman, Reince Priebus, opened the session open officially in Tampa, Florida. Delegates paused for prayer as many others gathered on the floor of the convention.
New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie, along with Ann Romney, the wife of Republican Presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney, are both set to address the convention on Tuesday, August 28th even as the focus of many media houses shift to New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, which is now threatened by Issac. Issac is set to become a category two hurricane by late Tuesday night and could hit New Orleans seven years to the date since Katrina wrecked havoc there. (Mario B. Cabrera/Vision Fotos)
