News Americas, ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, Mon. Oct. 17, 2011: Guatemala on Saturday became only the second team to reach the semi-final round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifier.

The Central American team advanced after Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines drew 1-1 on Saturday.

The result left Guatemala atop Group E in the first group stage of qualifying with 12 points, eight ahead of both countries and nine in front of Belize with two matches remaining.

Guatemala, which follows Panama who advanced on Tuesday, will join the United States and Jamaica in the semi-final round along with the winner of Group F. Antigua and Barbuda leads Group F by two points over Haiti entering the final two matches.
