Rihanna
News Americas, BROOKLYN, NY, Fri. May 1, 2013: If you guessed sexy Bajan-born superstar Rihanna then congratulations!

The multiple Grammy Award winner was set to perform this weekend at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York as part of her “Diamonds Tour.” The show is a five-act spectacle with dancers, elaborate sets and antics that bring arena rock’s heyday to mind. But the show has now been pushed back to Tuesday night due to a Nets game at the arena. The Nets forced a seventh game of their NBA playoff series this Saturday night. Rihanna’s concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays center will now be postponed to accommodate the winner-take-all contest.

In a statement to fans, Brett Yormark, CEO of Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets, said, “I want to apologize to Rihanna’s fans for the inconvenience of having to reschedule her show at Barclays Center from Saturday, May 4 to Tuesday, May 7 due to Game 7 of the Brooklyn Nets-Chicago Bulls NBA Playoffs series. I want to thank Rihanna for working with us on this new date and for understanding what a Game 7 in Brooklyn means to the borough. We are looking forward to a special concert and I hope Rihanna will be our guest at Game 7.”

Show time is now 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7. Tickets for the show that ranged between $39.50 to $150 were sold out and fans will be refunded or can show up on Tuesday night.

Rihanna has come a long way since she entered the music business with “Pon De Replay” in 2005. And her star has only risen higher with each passing year, despite setbacks in her personal relationship.

Her most recent album, “Unapologetic,” has spawned two Top 10 singles, the bleak “Diamonds” and the ballad “Stay.”
