News Americas, LOS ANGELES, CA, Weds. Dec. 12, 2012: Despite a stellar performance on Monday night, Guyanese American singer Trevin Hunte failed to claim of one three spots in the finale of The Voice on Tuesday night.

Much to the disappointment of many Guyanese fans, Hunte was voted off of the show while fellow Ceelo team mate, Nicholas David, was sent into the finals to join and Team Blake’s Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope.

Hunte, 18, who grew up in Queens, NY but lived in Georgia and had attended the Lithonia Middle School in Atlanta. According to his blog, Hunte was bullied growing up, and was told by a teacher that he would never succeed in music.

He dedicated his Monday night performance of “Wind Beneath My Wings” to the students at Lithonia and his family.
