News Americas, BROOKLYN, NY, Weds. Sept. 26, 2018: One of two men seen in an alleged rape tape of a teen in the South American CARICOM nation of Guyana has been found dead.
Reports indicate that the body of Sherwin Apple, also called ‘Yellow,’ formerly of William Street Kitty and Silver Town, Wismar, Linden, was fished out of Kitty Seawall in the vicinity of Selena on Tuesday morning.
He and another man allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl in Linden on Monday. A video of the alleged rape was shared on social media. The video showed him and the other man taking turns having sex with the teen as she begged them to stop.
Apple was reportedly seen demanding oral sex from the minor while saying demeaning things to her as the second perpetrator recorded the ordeal.
It is believed that he might have committed suicide by ingesting carbon tablets. Guyana media reports indicate he was found lying face down in the mud but there were no marks of violence on his body. However, he was blood oozing from his nostrils.
His body was taken to the Lyken’s Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem.
Apple reportedly re-migrated back to Guyana from Antigua a few years ago.
It is claimed he told relatives prior to his death that the sex was consensual, and the content seen in the video was merely “role play.”
News of his death comes as I-News reports claim that the teen and her mother turned up at the Police Station and denied that she was the person in the video.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
