News Americas, MIAMI, FL, Weds. Aug. 26, 2015: Another storm was threatening the Caribbean region last night, leaving at least 10 islands under a tropical storm watch.

Tropical Storm Erika arrives on the heels of hurricane Danny, which has since dissipated. The storm has forced regional airlines LIAT to cancel services for Wednesday, August 26, Thursday, August 27 and Friday August 28th.

Last night the storm was about 545 miles east of Antigua with maximum sustained winds at 40 mph. Erika has left Montserrat, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, Anguilla, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Marten Guadeloupe, St. Martin and St. Barthelemy under a tropical storm watch.

According to the National Hurricane Center, the center of Erika will be near the Leeward Islands Wednesday night into early Thursday.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 40 mph with higher gusts possible during the next 48 hours.

Erika is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 2 to 4 inches over many of the Leeward Islands through Thursday.
