News Americas, WASHINGTON, D.C., Fri. June 24, 2011: The 19th Annual DC Carnival will take to the streets of the U.S. capital tomorrow.
The event, part of Caribbean American Heritage Month, is set for Saturday June 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning this year at Kansas Avenue, NW along the Georgia Avenue business corridor and ending at Barry Place, NW across from the Howard University Campus in D.C.
The Caribbean Style Mardi Gras Parade is set to feature 30 participating groups representing the Caribbean, Latin America and the Diaspora and will transform Georgia Avenue into a “Caribbean Bourbon Street” with the sights and sounds of the Caribbean as thousands of spectators.
DC Carnival is an annual event produced by DC Caribbean Carnival, Inc., a non-profit organization in the District of Columbia. Sponsors for the 19th Annual DC Caribbean Carnival, Inc., include Wal-mart, 7-eleven, Diageo and DC Lottery.
