News Americas, PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, Tues. June 28, 2011: Almost a week after he announced his registration from both the presidency of CONCACAF and the vice presidency of FIFA, Jack Warner has had some of his ministerial responsibilities taken away.
A Cabinet shake-up last Sunday by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar left Warner as only minister of the works. Persad-Bissessar said she has created a new transport ministry that means Warner’s responsibilities for port and airport authorities, the national airline and the state-owned bus service have ended.
PM Persad-Bissessar, however, said her decision to change the cabinet had nothing to do with the alleged bribery claims against Warner or his decision to quit the football posts.
