News Americas, CHICAGO , IL, Thurs. Oct. 25, 2012: Former Secretary of State, National Security Adviser, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Jamaican America Colin Powell, today made his choice for President.

Powell endorsed President Obama over Republican Mitt Romney citing the President’s leadership in bringing the U.S. back from the brink of economic collapse, ending the war in Iraq, his plan to end the war in Afghanistan, and his strong record of fighting terrorism.

He said that while he has the “utmost respect” for Governor Romney, “his proposals especially with respect to dealing with our most significant issue, the economy, is essentially let’s cut taxes and compensate for that with other things.”

“But that compensation does not cover all of the cuts intended or the new expenses associated with defense,” added Powell.
