News Americas, PHILADELPHIA, PA, Mon. July 14, 2014: Jamaican international Brian Brown has been added to the roster of the Philadelphia Union Major League Soccer team.

Brown is on loan from Harbour View FC for the remainder of the 2014 MLS season following a successful trial and played in the Colorado Rapids game at PPL Park on Saturday night, July 12th. But not even the Golden Boot winner could given Union a win as they wound up with a 3-3 draw against the Rapids before an overflow sellout crowd of 18,679.

Prior to joining Harbour View, the 21-year-old played for Montego Bay United, scoring three goals in 17 appearances during the 2012-13 season. Per MLS and club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

He has also suited up for the Jamaican national team alongside Union rookie goalkeeper Andre Blake. Brown played 19 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Trinidad & Tobago on November 15, 2013. He’ll compete with Conor Casey, Andrew Wenger and Sebastian Le Toux for time in interim head coach Jim Curtin’s lineup.
