News Americas, Daegu, Korea, Mon Sept. 5, 2011: There’s no stopping the Jamaicans as a power house team shattered another record in Daegu Sunday.
Jamaica’s record holder, Usain Bolt, along with Nesta Carter, Michael Frater and Yohan Blake broke the world record in the men’s 4x100m Relay in a time of 37.04 to eclipse the 37.10 previous record another Jamaican crew set at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
The final event heroics by the Jamaican fearsome foursome was just one of seven events on the final day’s program that brought to a close nine days of action not lacking in drama, suspense and surprise.
On Saturday, Jamaica’s women had to settle for silver in their women’s 4×100 m finals as the US took the gold while Bolt won the 200-m men’s finals in a time of 19.40 to bounce back from his disappointing false star and subsequent disqualification in the men’s 100-m.
