Sherone Simpson, Kerron Stewart, Anneisha McLauglin and Fraser-Pryce clocked 42.42 seconds to seal the win and end the United States’ dominance in this event at the Penn Relays.

However, the United States swept the 4x400m while the 4×800 relay team of Lea Wallace, Brenda Martinez, Ajee Wilson and Alysia Montano set a new American Record to start the USA vs. The World series, winning in a time of 8:04.31.
The Men’s Distance Medley Relays was decided by 0.69 seconds in the favor of Ethiopia over Kenya. The finish wasn’t even the closest of the day, the men’s 4×400 decided by just .23 seconds as Tony McQuay held off a charging Errol Nolan from Jamaica on the final leg.
On the college front, Villanova completed its double on the track in College Women’s events, setting a new Collegiate and Penn Relays Record in the 4×800 with a winning time of 8:17.45 – a winning margin of 0.17 over Oregon. Emily Lipari ran anchor for the Wildcats, finishing her second wheel-winning leg of the weekend to earn Athlete of the Meet honors for College Women’s Relay events.
While Jamaica went 1-2-3 in the high school boys’ 4×400, Calabar just ahead of Munro College in a photo finish by .002 seconds with a winning time of 3:09.22.
The penultimate event of the Carnival saw Oregon set a Penn Relays and Franklin Field Record in the College Women’s 4×400 in a time of 3:26.73, almost a second ahead of the previous record.
