News Americas, ST.GEORGE, GRENADA, Mon. Aug. 12, 2012: Regional airline, LIAT, is being urged to name an aircraft in honor of the new men’s 400- Olympic Gold medalist, Grenada-born Kirani James.

Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves of St. Vincent and the Grenadines made the call while praising James for securing Grenada’s first Olympic medal with his win on August 6th.

Grenada Prime Minister, Tillman Thomas, said the expressions and sentiments of solidarity and support expressed by the leaders and people of the Organization of American States, show that the feat achieved by James is a celebration of the dreams and aspirations of the people of the OECS subregion.
