News Americas, BOGOTA, Colombia, Mon. Sept. 12, 2011: Miss Colombia Universe is being warned sternly for going sans panties.
Catalina Robayo, 22, has reportedly received a volley of stern warnings from Miss Universe pageant officials after she was photographed at one official appearance by Brazilian newspaper Agora wearing a short bright coral dress and failing to cross her legs. The photograph, which allegedly shows her sans panties, was published on the front page of the newspaper.
Robayo, who is named after an orchid in Colombia, is an eight-semester student of law at Pontifical Xavierian University and was crowned last year.
“Colombia had to be spoken to and told she needed to wear underpants as what she was doing was totally inappropriate,” a source told Fox News. “People have been pretty upset by it; there have been photos and media appearances where she has completely had her crotch out.”
President of the Miss Universe Organization, Paula Shugart, was reportedly “floored” when she heard what happened.
The Miss Universe 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, will be held at the Credicard Hall, in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011.
