News Americas, St. George, Grenada, Nov. 23, 2012: Leader of the Nation of Islam, Minister Louis Farrakhan, the child of Caribbean immigrants, is on a Caribbean visit.
Minister Farrakhan kicked off his visit in Grenada Thursday, meeting with the island’s Prime Minister, Tillman Thomas and touring several agricultural projects, including the Nutmeg Receiving Station at Gouyave in St. John’s.
Minister Farrakhan, who will be the main speaker at a weekend forum, is scheduled to visit Barbados, Dominica, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Belize, and the Bahamas as well.
The Chicago-based Nation of Islam has espoused Black Nationalism and self-reliance since it was founded in Detroit in the 1930s.
