News Americas, CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, Weds. Jan. 23, 2013: The Caribbean island of Nevis has a new premier.

He is Vance Amory, leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement. Armory and the CCM defeated Joseph Parry of the Nevis Reformation Party in elections held on the island Tuesday, Jan. 22nd.

The CCM won three of the five seats in the Nevis Island Assembly. The CCM’s Mark Brantley and Alexis Jeffers also won seats.
Armory returns to the post that he once held from 1992 to 2006.

Parry, however, retain his seat in the Assembly, along with Robelto Hector of the NRP.

The Nevis Island Assembly meets in the one-time home of Alexander Hamilton, the first US Secretary of the Treasury.
