News Americas, QUEENS, NY, Weds. Sept. 7, 2011: International Grammy winning dancehall star, Beenieman, was on Sunday honored for his over three decades of outstanding contribution to the reggae music.
Moses Davis, aka Beenie, was honored on September 4th by New York-based Irie Jam radio, organizers of the inaugural Reggae Rhythm & Blues Festival at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, NY.
Making the presentation to Beenieman was US Congresswoman Yvette Clarke and members of the Irie Jam teamincluding DJ Roy, Anthony Turner, Dubb Master Chris, Irie Dale, Bobby Clarke, Michael Williams and Louie Grant.
Beenieman is the musical genius behind such classics as “Dancehall Queen,” “Girls Dem Sugar,” featuring R & B singer Mýa, “Dude” and “King of the Dancehall.”
Performers at the festival included Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds, Leroy Sibbles, I-Octane, Monica, Mavado, Tarrus Riley and Machel Montano HD.
